“Most of the bad actors that I write about in the Star-Telegram just have a truck, a cell phone and a website. They don’t have an office. They’re not real. They don’t have a company. They don’t have workers. They’re just guys putting together jobs. It’s just not worth it.”
So says Fort Worth Star-Telegram columnist Dave Lieber, founder of the consumer rights movement WatchdogNation.com, in a TV appearance on WFAA/Channel 8’s Good Morning Texas in Dallas. He went to the airwaves to warn Texans whose property was damaged in this week’s tornado outbreak not to fall for slick-talking roofers and contractors. There are good guys and bad guys, Dave says. It’s easy to distinguish between the two if you know what you’re doing.
“I don’t want anyone to get hurt in these next few weeks,” he told host Paige McCoy Smith.
